http://www.abc.net.au/tv/theslap | The Slap is a bold, provocative television drama series that forensically examines the mores and morality of contemporary middleclass life. Based on Christos Tsiolkas' bestselling novel, this 8-part drama series traces the shattering repercussions of a single event upon a group of family and friends.

  • Rosie deserved a slap as well. According to get the world's evil and out to get her poor little darling Hugo who was a spoiled little devil child. Great drama this.

  • Amazing, honestly the best drama series I've ever seen. Couldn't hate a single character. You should all read the book too!

  • A few episodes were a bit so-so, most were incredible. The one about Rosie took my least favorite character in the show and made the best piece of Australian TV I have ever seen.

  • @space99dude

Because everybody would have bitched about the content despite being aired post-watershed. You know this country gets its knickers in a knot about anything even scripted content and warnings before hand (Some people shouldn't even be ALLOWED to watch TV).

Example; the recent furore over Corrie w/ the whole Owen/Faye spank plot.

On Sat/Cable/Digital people don't care so much. +,I don't think it would have got decent ratings on BBC2. It would get shafted Pan Am-style.

  • Anthony Hayes (Greg) is my cousin

  • I was a supporter for Anouk the whole way through. She had her own crap to deal with and was right to keep her head down despite constantly having other people's problems thrown at her. I was sympathetic with Gary, couldn't stand Rosie and quite liked Richie.

  • Been watching all theses on BBC4 best thing Ive seen for a long while god knows why they buried it on 4

  • that little hugo is a cnut you all dream of punching him in the face

  • It makes me sad that this series is over already...

  • @angl388 I pity Hugo, even thought it's not real. I mean, he has an alcoholic father and an over-sensitive bitch for a mother, who can't seem to stop talking about what happened, as if it's all about her. I don't think I like any of the characters apart from Anouk and Aisha. And I agree with you that hitting a child is wrong, but they shouldn't have to hit their child if they discipline him properly.
