@goldenmoviepalace Actually this was from a Joint NWA and AWA show promoted by Pro Wrestling USA, a company formed by Gagne & several NWA member promotions to "combat" Vince Jr's WWF machine. There were alot of things Verne Gagne did around this time that did not make sense. Michael Hayes & Steve Cox NEVER held the AWA Tag Team titles, they did however hold the World Class Tag Team Titles twice.

Only Hawk & Animal could handle Big Bam Bam like a little wimp.

@TheHorsemanfan AWA All Star Wrestling Saturday mornings at 11am on wpix out of New York. When wrestling was nearly perfect in North America. The 80's were awesome. Words cannot express the quality of life back in those days. When the neighborhoods played together, everything was new and exciting, but still had class. Nowadays our culture is the drizzling shits.

The Wrestling Civil War of 1985 between The Road Warriors from North and The Fabulous Freebirds from South!? Outstanding!!! I truly love Freebirds' faces painted with the Confederate flag and Michael's moonwalk at the 2:28 mark.LOL Back then, both teams were, without a question, in their prime and dominant in a lot of territories across the whole country. Looks like "Bam Bam" Gordy got the heaviest weight at this period of time but mobile enough. I wish that match couda taken place here.

Classic old school wrestling the way it used to be and how it should now be done!
This just seems so unreal to have two classic NWA Tag Teams, in a title match for the AWA World Tag tiles. The Birds never fit into the AWA well at all, and were frankly treated like crap by Gagne and his cronies. Never even held the tag belts while there. Instead they gave them to Regal and Garvin? Now that really makes allot of sense. I think some years later Hayes was a AWA Tag champion for a short time with Steve Cox.

@goldenmoviepalace Actually the reason Regal and Garvin wound up with the belts was because both the Road Warriors and the Fabulous Freebirds were leaving the AWA and the talent pool in the AWA at that time was pretty thin.
