RCU Magazine Event - Great Plane's E-FEST 2009 Indoor Electric Festival (Heli "Smackdown")

Saturday evening brought the 3D helicopter smackdown competition. The large crowd in attendance was treated to some spectacular flying by some of the best in the country. The pilots were required to fly a 3D routine that was choreographed and set to music. The winner was judged based on audience applause at the end of the competition. Helicopter pilots have a habit of pushing the envelope when it comes time to show off and E-Fest was no exception. There were several minor crashes and one that looked like a complete re-kit.
