This is a small example of parallax mapping on a Nexus S using the jPCT-AE 3D engine (http://www.jpct-ae.net) for Android.

The texture is some picture from the internet, the normal map has been generated by ShaderMap CL and the height map has been drawn by me.

The polygon count of this model is...2! Looks like more, doesn't it?

  • The fps is incredible. I've been looking for Parallax shading for a while now, and I've only seen it done with jPCT. So far standard Normal Mapping is the only thing I've seen around.

    Can you provide some pointers how you accomplished this? Did you write the shader on your own?
