The Japanese is just as cool as the English version...
-
I speak Japanese fluently (my mom is Japanese), and I'd say the voice acting, at least what's shown here, is pretty fantastic. The script translation's good too; it doesn't sound translated at all, and they're throwing in appropriate Japanese colloquialisms (e.g. そうは問屋が降さんぞ、バカめ! at the end).

@d00mfan89 well, i do understand like 5 or 6 words in japanese, so i think i heard him call prime an idiot at the end
-
I would like to know why it's so bad also?
-
I don't know a lot of Japanese, but I think Megatron said at the end "Oh, you're gonna need more than that, Convoy"
-
Surprisingly, no-one mentioned the fact that it was Soundwave who informed Megatron that Condor (Laserbeak) returns and not Shockwave in this version.
-
True. But the Japanese dub isn't so bad; just as Petter Cullen and Frank Welker were awesome as Prime and Megatron's English voices, who ever provided their voices in this dub did a decent job.
-
Sorry, I beg to differ, and I grew up watching the Japanese version before the originals. No one can replace Peter Cullen and Frank Welker as Optimus and Megatron, respectively.

I'm saying I heard part of this in chinese. It sounds really funny especially Soundwaves voice. He sounds like he's singing. I have nothing against the chinese. They just made it sound funny when they dubbed it.
I don't think its so bad. Actually, I don't think its bad at all. The Japanese voice acting is equal to the original English acting in my opinion.

I agree, it's not terrible, and they did do a great job. But I just prefer the original, be it with anything. I guess I was sick and tired of listening to dubs, so I'll always prefer the originals. As with most people hating dubbed anime, I hated watching dubbed US movies, most of the time lines are out of sync, and things are lost in translation
