here in the uk, swiss chard will be cool over the winter, and keep growing the more you pick the leaves.

thank you for sharing your vids been learning alot too. Althou I am kind of jealous of your weather, its been mid 70's here although one evening it was 50

I have been putting a whole bunch of cardboard, newspaper, and other stuff under my plants and trees since we are in a water shortage and it has helped! Haven't had to use as much water.

Your rooster is crazy!!! :-) Do they usually crow during the day like that?

Good job, keep-em coming. I live in mid-Mi and know what you mean about the rainy weather. I am attempting to prune 17 apple tree's. Has to be done, might do it in the rain or snow if I don't get busy!

awesome vid and helpful...
Is your seed saving book good? if so, I'm looking for one if you can give a recommendation.

@buckstarchaser -- I'm a beginner seed saver myself, but I like the book simply titled Saving Seed (if I'm remembering correctly - at work at the moment). I featured it in the garden segment of my homesteading prepper's library series.

Hi Renee,
As usual great job on the video. I have learned so much from your well chronicaled gardening videos and I can't wait to see how amazing your bounty will be summer 2010. Hopefully you found a solution to the blueberry bushes.

Thanks Dixie! I am hoping to have a traditional garden next year as well -- to grow some corn and just expand things. We'll see. Winter is always the time of BIG PLANS for the Spring! I'm already pouring over the garden catalogs. (They're coming early this year!)
