@davegate2000 hmm...then r u aware of any legal thingy that is going on 4 this issue??
the Bar Council of Pahang is question about the independence of the IAEA...y cant they form a group of specialists from all relevant fields...instead they only asked the opinion of IAEA who is pro-nuclear development body??
it is like asking the seller if wat he is selling is of satisfactory quality... =/
4 Thorium & Uranium 2 reach their HALF life...it needs 140 millions year...none of us can afford that...

@davegate2000 LYNAS and Malaysian government has bypassed a procedure lay out in IAEA for such industries. It should consult local agreement prior set up the plant but that was bypassed. So that bullet you cannot use. Whatever you say IAEA all are bullshit already. Don't know what kind of lies statistic come out with 93 against 7 % but when asked for details of supporters cannot produce. So what lies more you want to generate?
-
@davegate2000 Indeed I was staying more than 100km from Petronas towers. What's the whole point of your life anyway? Getting paid to preach the goodness of LYNAS but fail to get more supporters? Try join the green peace here, the doors are open and we all welcome your support. If things doesn't goes wrong, people won't piss on your grave to the 1000 generations after you.
-
@davegate2000 But why there is Anti-government and anti-Lynas at the first place? The protester are not violent, they don't pick a fight, they never burn down houses, properties or turn around cars. Whereas hooligans are trying to do all the above. Are you promoting violent and support the hooligans for the cause of LYNAS? It is just plain hippocrates to employ someone to preach goodness of LYNAS industry and the other hand trying to get some hooligans to do the dirty jobs.
-
@davegate2000 You are telling people what they knew already. But you are not telling people what you don't want them to know.AKA 14 Billion Years. The contractor engineer say its unsafe but LYNAS insist carry on project,IAELB has a procedures of consulting and polloing of agreement on local people of building such facilities whereas don't know how and why it was bypassed.Oh we see dirty jobs man. Don't preach false message. When the judicial, police, MACC, is not trustworthy, what is AELB for?

I am no expert on radiation but I trust the International Atomic Energy Association.
If you can't trust the world's highest authority on a subject then who can you trust?
The Lynas opponents demanded that an independent international body do a full examination of Lynas' operation. Lynas happily agreed. The report was released by the IAEA last year and it said that Lynas was safe. It should be case closed, but the Lynas opponents were STILL were not happy and continue to oppose it.
-
@SyMpHoNy87 If you can show evidence that the plant will not be safe then by all means it should be stopped. However, so far all we have is scaremongering and political manipulation of the public by the opposition party. NO EVIDENCE. If you shut down Lynas based on fear alone then where does it stop? Petronas' refineries produce toxic waste, including radioactive byproducts. It is more dangerous than Lynas due to its high flammability. Do you want to shut them down too?

@davegate2000 pls hav a HEART...
if u still wanna believe in wat u r thinking...u hav all ur rights 2 do so...
but pls don't go against those ppl who try 2 PROTECT their own HOME & their FUTURE GENERATION's home...
we all can't afford 2 lose a land that we all can called HOME...
we r not that rich...or would u kind enough 2 BUY those LAND from them???
they hav suffered enough from these greedy corrupted government who din even go thru the necessary procedures 4 this LYNAS project...
PLS...
-
@davegate2000 the same thing had been said during the Bukit Merah's case...
in the end...ppl suffered from all sorts of cancer...hav mutated childrens...& the place is inhabitable...
may i know wat is his background knowledge?? do u actually posses any chemical knowledge?? pls kindly tell me wat Thorium & Uranium r categorized in...
we hav doctors, chemist & toxicology experts that go against these remarks that those irresponsible, selfish ppl that lack of necessary knowledge 2 even speak...
juz a simple question 2 those who said that the refinery plantation is safe...
would u juz stay next 2 the plantation itself 4 decades???
it is always easier 2 talk than 2 do...
if it is really safe...
i hav a great plan 4 u guys who supported it...
buy in as much land nearby the plantation as u can...coz the price of the land nearby will definitely deflated...
then start some housing development...
i'll ensure u that u will enjoy wat u deserve soon...

All the hybrid car, latest gadget need this "Rare Earth Material" so how green are we? Everyone wants the final product but not the toxic. Such irony

@K1146345 No you have missed the point totally. Lynas is trying to escape the more stringent environmental conditions that would be placed on its refinery if it was built in Australia. This is toxic dumping, the export to toxic waste to the Third World, to a country with a corrupt and repressive government that doesn't give a damn about the welfare of the people of Kuantan or the environment. Note: The WA government says it will not accept the return of toxic waste from the Lynas refinery.
