Michel Pastre -- prominent French jazz artist, music director and famous saxophonist -- will be paying homage to Roy Eldridge by performing with his renowned Big Band, an exceptional formation of Italian and French musicians, among them many young talents such as alto sax players Nicolas Dary and Luigi Grasso, trumpeter Jerôme Etcheberry and pianist Paolo Alderighi in addition to sensational drummer Duffy Jackson.
After different experiences with numerous bands in Europe and the United States, Pastre created the big band in 1998; in 1999 he won the Prix Sidney Bechet and, in the meantime, established himself in the European scene both as director and as one of the most talented saxophonists of his generation.
Worthy of mention is that some of the Big Band musicians will be forming interesting musical collaborations throughout the various evenings: the Etcheberry -- Pastre Quintet and the band formed by Nicolas Dary with the Grasso brothers, and Duffy Jackson.
