When Angela says to Shawn "I just don't want to hurt you anymore" and the general premise that Angela is afraid to say she loves him because of her mother are ridiculous.

Here are so real reasons why.

The summary for the episode "Angela's Men" from the 7th season wants us to believe that Angela is 'scared to love him' because of her mother, a plot that never existed. This video shows that everything to the contrary. Even when Angela says she doesn't want to "hurt Shawn anymore" when he's was the one who always hurt her.

I like the episode, but the conclusion was terrible. It completely ignores Angela's side, which is ironic seeing that the episode title is about her.

  • And really I think they did season 6 to make Angela even more apart of the show, make it a true quad and not some random chick. You know Angela became Topanga's best friend and Shawn's girlfriend/ex-friend but what about her relationship with Cory? So they broke Angela and Shawn up and made Angela and Cory close so to prove that Angela is apart of this show for real. And then season 7 (though it was obvious they were doing this the last episode) that Shawn and Angela are soulmates and alike.

  • Thank you for making this. The show did a lot of rewrites. I loved this show but the rewrites where bad. Not only Shawn and Angela (who I loved) but Corey and Topanga and their being in love since they where two was stupid, and I also hate how they wrote Eric in the later seasons.

  • Damn I feel like Shawn sometimes

  • What episode is 8:48?

  • Thank you for this but eh.....they did the same with Topanga and Cory....yeah like they were a couple since they were 4. No....we saw on screen how they hooked up and it wasn't on any monkey bars. It progressed over time....but they first loves. Eric was inconsistent, he was never as dumb as they eventually made him out to be. And Shawn had a brother in the first season but only in season 5 he get a half brother....I can name more but the show being consistent was never a strong suit.

  • A few friends and I once called BMW the "king of retcons". And yes, the development of Shawn/Angela's relationship was one of the many retcons on the show. But I really think Angela's "I just don't want to hurt you anymore" came from the beginning of season 7 when Shawn wanted to get back with Angela and told him that they shouldn't see each other anymore.

In my opinion, there was always a tragic undertone to their relationship right from the beginning. At least it was consistent in that sense.

  • Thank you for pointing this out! It's something that always bugged me!!! Boy Meets World was always good for contradicting itself. I loved the show, but the writers should have figured out one storyline and stuck with it! They turned Eric into an idiot, Cory and Topanga into soul mates (he was terrified of her in the earlier seasons) and Angela into some fragile, emotional maladjust.
