10 enthisiasts purchased a swom (20 acres) and converted it in to a Model Flying field. We also left half as a nature Reserve for wild life flora and trees

  • Nice use of the shipping containers!

Did you build an out house or are you guys roughing it on a log over in the weeds?

    Beautiful flying site!

  • Hi

We are roughing it on a log

We call it "Club house"it is used as store for the maintenance equipment, tools, Solar power and batteries, and general modelling equipment such as assembly stands, sun protection, outside seating and model boats and yachts store,

and an area for shelter for the members .

No one ever used it for over night stay!

Thank you for the compliment on the field. As we can afford, we continuesly try to improve this sportsfield.

    regards Fred

  • its on logs. mainly used for storage of equipment and tools needed for the site and boats, planes, tools etc.

    regards Fred

  • how much did one shipping container cost can you recall?

  • The cost app 1500 EUR each because of their good condition

    Happy New Year!

  • how about a soild runway, that might help the take off and landing

  • There is talk about another runway, pilots with Turbine planes would like it.

At present, we have a groundsman keeping the grass well cut. this improved the field a lot!

The enlarged pond caters for sea planes and boats.

The kids lovew it as long speedy boats are at their disposal.

    Fred

  • wow! what a great video. and also great team-work!

  • Congratulations on your wonderful airport.

It's nice to see all of your hard work materialize into a great place to play.

one thing I have learned when flying models...

no matter how much open space you have, if there is a pole or tree in sight, you will eventually hit it. That's just the way it is.

(With a 150 Meter runway, you guys have more than enough room to fly a "full scale" Zenair 701)

  • Lots of work, but great results!

  • Could you explain what you all are doing is Passion or Hobby !

  • thankyou and happy new year!
