Linux on the ps3 is best for running emulators and playing roms (nes, snes, sega, psx) classic games. And to everyone that asked linux is totally legal to run. (only works on the phat systems tho)

actually u can't becuz 1 it is missing the files that the ps3 is able 2 boot in2 linux 4 that os and 2 the architecture is made differently. u can get a PPC version of it but still it won't work becuz it doesn't have the files 4 the ps3 2 boot 4 that linux. u must get either the original ps3 version of ubuntu or the alternative ubuntu version that is made 4 the ps3

the difference is that in my opinion ubuntu has a better way 2 manage things than yellowdog. and the stuff that ubuntu offers is more updated than yellowdog. the only 3 things i like about yellow dog is faster browsing, the dock, and the option 2 reboot 2 XMB with 1 click

what other OS do you recommend the most? just for basic use of viewing webpages, flashplayer 9 and word processor/ office like programs?

well i would recommend ubuntu. its good 4 basic use of viewing webpages, flashplayer 9 well some1 mentioned how 2 get it 2 work in my ubuntu 9.04 review video, and word processor/office like well it has them included and its very good with that
