  • Ok, I'm deeply impressed! I asked a rhetoric question from myself: how should this piece be played? And then found this vid and I feel that my question has been answered!

  • this is incredible!

  • I love the interpretation and playing - absolutely beautiful.

But the facial expressions... I've only seen worse from Lang Lang. Doesn't suit this beautiful, delicate music. Not a fan of his arrogant nodding during the applauses either.

That said, I could *listen* to this all day :')

  • really nice but affected.

I'm very curious, in your opinion, what about this performance do you consider poor? Specifics would be more helpful, than comparisons to other pianists whose interpretations you favor. For example, at the introduction, is his LH accompaniment played too forte, or the articulation lack legato? Are his melodic triplets too stiff, or perhaps he employs too much rubato. Did you not enjoy the final theme statement shared in the same hand with a trill that V. plays pianissimo? Thanks

  • this is a poor performance, listen to the composer or horowitz, or even Askenazy for that matter

  • Just perfect . Nothing but an ever fresh green instant.

  • That silence from 3:41 is the ultimate audience response. It's what every pianist strives for after playing a piece like that!

After scouring YT for *the* interpretation, I think I can stop now. I'll have to keep my eyes closed, though. ;)

  • Very beautiful playing of this piece. Pity about the grimaces. Some pianists should be heard but not seen

  • Oh my!! Absolute perfection!

  • Absolutely amazing!
