This is a demonstration of a 4 cylinder Oscillating engine running on compressed air of 40 psi.
It was constructed to my own design in my home workshop using a 3 1/2 inch lathe and a vertical milling attachment.
It has a bore of 1\2" and a stroke of 12 mm ( similar to the Cheddar Puffin ). The power ouput should be twice the Puffin as I am running 4 Cylinders. The Cylinders are timed at 90 Degrees apart ( 90 * 4 = 360 ) producing a very smooth rotation and exceptionally slow speed running with high torque.
It has been designed so that there is no external pipework or siversoldering, all steam galleries are drilled and then blanked within the main block, The blanks are stainless steel screws and are removable to allow cleaning when required.
Main bearings are 5 mm ballrace, Oscillating bearings are 3 mm ballrace, all screws are stainless and shafts are silver steel. Driven and output shafts are 5 mm dia. Piston rings are Vitron 1/2" dia. It is complete with a Displacement Lubricator.
I sell these engines on EBAY as and when I complete them.
I am currently designing / building a 2 cylinder version using the same dimensions. On completion I will be posting a demonstration video.
Any questions then contact me thru' the YOUTUBE system or by my email jerry.irwin@homecall.co.uk
