Enrichment is a very important part of caring for captive animals, at Big Cat Rescue we maintain a program making sure that all our cats receive enrichment on a regular basis. A special treat for the cats at this time of year is left over christmas trees that are donated by local stores. Watch as our lions, tigers and leopards enjoy playing with their trees!

Thank you for watching and happy new year from all the cats at Big Cat Rescue!

  • Too bad none of those animals grown in captivity can ever be introduced back to wild, they are doomed to life in cage, I just cant support that.

  • We agree, our ultimate goal is to put ourselves out of business, until the laws are changed however there will continue to be hundreds of big cats needing homes each year. This is how we have rescued our cats and use them to educate the public to help us get the laws changed regarding private ownership of these cats.

  • Haha, I love how your lioness was behind the fence being all "Oh boy, tree! Let me at it, let me at iiiit!".

  • Yep, she loved those trees!

  • Absolutely MAGICAL video -- the joy the cats show is what life should be for every cat, every day! Just a question to BCR: pine is not bad for the big cats? I've heard it is for small cats...

  • Our cats just love to rub on it for the smell, they don't eat it or anything like that. I'm not sure with small cats I'm sure they would be fine also though :)

  • How beautiful to watch them rub up against those trees- you guys are wonderful.

  • They look just like my cat before he mauls the Christmas tree!

  • @dragas2 Why don't you direct your anger towards people who visit that gas station in Louisiana with the Tiger instead of people who rescue these animals from horrible conditions. As you can see in the videos, these animals are look healthy and extremely happy.

  • Awwwww beautiful video and even more beautiful cats. :)

  • I remember my childhood cat liked to lie under our tree and seemed to enjoy the smell. Looks like big cats are the same.
