THIS IS THE 2nd REUNION GIG BY THE DAWN, LIVE PERFORMANCE AT THE 2001 NU107 ROCK AWARDS. The song is entitled I Saw You Coming In.
In 2000, the band had their first ever television appearance once again after they took a break in the music industry for five years. They opened up the event of the 2000 NU's rock awards, playing an extended version of Salamat.
I had been a huge fan of them since their late 80's era (the san miguel salamat days), They played here in cebu, with 40 the Band as their opening act. They used to wear those jazzed up jeans in concert (of course sponsored by levis). and would wear make-up.
In 2002, they were the headliners of a certain
oktoberfest event in waterfront cebu. After playing their set, Me and a couple of friends we're at the backstage, I asked Jett (in a nice manner), "Why didn't you include Rain on Me on the set?" he just smiled and signed my beyond the bend tape cover, and said to me, "wow pare, rare na ito ah!"
In their Tulad ng Dati movie, there was this segment wherein Jett asked francis, "why cant u play like Teddy?" good question Jett...why did u hire an axeman who's playing and attitude is sub par than teddy? Not to offend Kiko Brew, i respect your skills and your taste in music, but (in my opinion)you dont have showmanship, you lack rockstar attitude. Atsushi was way better than him (considering that the guy was greatly influenced by yngwie malmsteen) and even the zorro dude.
No more looking back, we cant bring back teddy to life (there's only 1 teddy), and we cant let atsushi quit his job. The current line-up of the dawn is half-stink... with the additon of buddy. I'm not really a fan of the E-heads. I can still remember watching a showdown concert in Cebu, wherein Manila and Cebu bands get to square off with each other. There was The introvoys vs the Monks and the other pair was Ledgerline vs E-heads. It really stucked in my sense that we (cebu) play a lot better than them and its just safe to say that Manila Bands sucked! (at that time). So there ain't no way I got to be a fan of buddy and the E-heads.
The Dawn is still the Dawn bcoz junboy (king of
16beat) is still around. He is the backbone of the band.
any info about the DVD-release of tulad ng dati???
"CHANGE IS BREAKING US APART" is their theme nowadays coz "IT WILL NEVER THE SAME" without Carlos Balcells, hindi na "TULAD NG DATI" na they a solid ryhtym section combination of Caloy & Junboy. "SALAMAT" ky Francis Reyes for continuing the "DREAMS" of the Dawn. "ALAM KO, ALAM NYO" na their new bassist is not a smart Buddy.

From the poster of this vid:
"The Dawn is still the Dawn bcoz junboy (king of
16beat) is still around. He is the backbone of the band."
Dude, if there's one member from this band who probably never "grew" musically, it has got to the their drummer. That's right. Call him the king of 16beat. That's all he does anyway.
No offense meant. I love The Dawn. But your low regard for other musicians who played with the band deserve equal respect.

If that's your opinion, then you shouldn't have been listening to the Dawn.
You better listen to Cueshe. Lulu-e na sila. Ayaw pasagad comment ky you don't know anything about 16-beat drumming.

Your reply is good enough.
I love the Dawn. Every member who became a part of the Dawn deserves a place in the band's history. From Teddy to Francis, from Clay to Buddy... regardless of individual skill, each member (former and current) deserves the respect we give to the band.
Anyway, that's just a matter of opinion. Thank you for posting a vid from the Dawn.

What if there's somebody that you don't like and you don't also like the band where he'd came from then suddenly he became a member of your favorite band...
well, that not a 'smart buddy' !!!!!

In that case, you may simply dismiss the new line up and go back the band's old records and videos.
Which I think is the purpose of posting this vid.
Anyway, last post. Ciao.

KOREK!
just like the case of Rivermaya. There's the Bamboo era, Rico era and the Jayson era.
As a fan, we have a choice if to continue being a fan or not with the current line-up with the same band name.
