It's not a Hard Rock cafe it's actually called cafe Hard Rock and has no affiliation with the real Hard Rock.

I am with the U.S. Military and was stationed in Heidelberg for two years. It was a great experience. I consider myself extremely lucky to have had that opportunity. I enjoyed your video as brought back many great memories.

damn i just know i was so stupid for not vistied Heidelberg .. my firend invited me there and i told her sorry i can't :(
It's really a very interesting castle ... At a tourguide it was said it got never hit by a bomb at the two world wars. It was all the work of LeBergerac (maybe I used the wrong name now ... at least a French General of the sun king Ludwig XIV)
Oh, there's a Hard Rock Cafe ... don't know what's special about it but I want to go to one, hehe.
I wonder our tour guide wasn't showing the library.
I think you would have been a better tour guide than we (my company) had there in last year

Thanks for your comments. :)
The castle was first damaged by General Tilly in the 30 Years War (1622). It was then rebuilt until the French, under Louis XIV, attacked it again and again until they won in 1689. It was planned to use building material for a new castle in Mannheim, but that never happened. Then in 1764, when Karl Theodor was planning to rebuild the castle, it was struck by lightning and burned down. And that was the end of Heidelberg Castle.

I noticed the Japanese characters (ユニコン) under the "UNICORN" sign. Is there many Japanese tourists in Germany?

Yes, Heidelberg is a very popular destination for Japanese tourists, along with Neuschwanstein and Rothenburg ob der Tauber. Japanese tourists have a reputation in Europe for travelling in large groups; of course, it's a long way from Japan, so they fly over and then take a coach tour of the most important European cities, seeing as much as they can while they are here.
And Heidelberg is twinned with the Japanese city of Kumamoto, which also has a famous castle.
