Can-Am has an awesome engine. The quad is bad ass on mud, and sand....but rocks? The visco or crisco lok as it's called = fail. On rocks, too many wheel's end up in the air, with the other wheel dead...waiting....and waiting to lock.

At the end, watch a Polaris go up the same obstacle (Fordyce Winch Hill 3) with all 4 wheels spinning at various times.

  • ....get off the dam thing and push it off

  • @Williamqtlowrey

Why push? The whole idea is to ride, not push.

  • i had to watch this again and i still would like to know if since now you have had any experience with the 2011 or 2010 visco lok qe it looks much improved.

  • @bballplaya123678

I do not. I heard it does...but never seen it.

  • Sorry I gotta be the Yamaha guy here. I love my kodiak 450, the independent suspension plus limited slip 4x4 for easy steering or locked front diff when I need it is unbeatable. Can am's, suzuki's, honda's, and kawasaki's are great quads but I never liked Polaris. They got good motors but very hard to steer in 4x4 climbing anything with the AWD.

  • @Greekatvman

It's hard to steer in AWD only when it locks. It only locks when the rear wheel spins 1/5 of 1 turn. It's similar to when you lock your 450, only it does it automatically. It works really well...especially rock crawling when momentum is required. One of our riders, has the Kodiak 450...it works well too. He's in that video somewhere.

  • @atvobsession You can have the rocks, Canam owns everything else!!!!

  • i hope he has fram mod in that or tat frame is heavly damage check out the frame

  • The non QE Visco lok can be hard to cope with. The key is to hold steady throttle to allow the pressure to build. I have the QE on my 2010 and it kicks in in less then one turn now. Much nicer then my old 08.

I think he has a problem with the visco lok, I have a 2008 Renegade 800, and the wheel turns very first raised, 1 - 2 turns of the other wheels and active ....
