Jamini Roy
One of the most influential painters of 20th century, was born in 1887 at Beliator village in Bankura district of Bengal. His works are known for giving India a unique individual painting style. He was very much influenced by rich heritage of traditional village and folk arts. He depicted everyday lives of people of rural Region. He belonged to a middle class family and his father was also an amateur artist. Jamini Roy was a earthy person who greatly believed in beauty of rural India and gave expressions to his paintings
