Harvey (of the Moonglows) and Chess Records and Etta from Chess-related labels. Written by them. Made #52 Pop and #6 R&B. Bought it new. *** I was a record collector in the 50s and 60s, mostly R&B, doowop, and Motown. My first two purchased records were 78s in '56...Peggy Sue and Blue Suede Shoes (still got em).
I listened mostly to KDIA in San Francisco/Oakland back in the day. If I liked a new song, I bought it. Hence you may discover some great songs as we go on this journey. Remember, just because it wasn't a hit doesn't mean it wasn't a great song.

  • This is definitely a forever favoite of the soul Hall of Fame. Right?

  • @garnoldmusic You can count on my vote! Thx

  • I believe I first heard this on Alan Freed's WABC radio show. It blew my mind. It might have been on Jocko's show.I loved Etta and Harvey. I knew he sang with the Moonglows, because I'm sure Alan or Jocko made sure we knew it even though his voice was unmistakable.

  • @fredo5115 Yea, if I recall correctly, Alan Freed had Harvey and the Monnglows on his stage shows. Ever heard SPOONFUL?
