I don't understand why people believe perfect pitch can't be learned. In most cases we all naturally can recognize C. If that is possible then why is it impossible to learn to recognize all of the other tones.
I'm proof that it can be done. I taught myself my junior year of high school. All you have to do is match the opening tones of songs you know to keys on the piano. When you have all 12 tones you can memorize them and slowly you will learn. (Example: A - "Get Back" by Veruca Salt)

@tESsEarthSnake I have to disagree with you on that that. I've taught myself the pitches 4 ot 5 years ago. All you have to do is sit at a piano, grab your iPod (or music collection) and find 12 songs that each start with each tone. Once you do that then all you have to do is memorize the song and the tone name. (For example Only Happy When It Rains by Garbage is G#) Eventually your brain will start to remember the tone more and focus less on the song you use to remember it.

Perfect Pitch can ofc be learnt. I haven't watched the video but I guess that if they aren't naming the correct notes than they don't have perfect pitch. Do you really think that some people's ears are calibrated to a absolute scale at birth? Ofc, not. Perfect Pitch is what it is, something you remember, something you learn. It's a memory function, it's not like seeing or hearing (which you do from birth). Anyways, my piano teacher learnt PP when he was 19/20.

@tESsEarthSnake ACTUALLY, we are all born with perfect pitch... you just have to learn how to unlock it...

A PERFECT PITCHER AND A PERFECCATCHER, NO DOUBT.

Spoiler - it's 2 douchebags and a guitar, there is nothing of educational value here.

Sheldon from the big band theory?

@kristolio1 Bullshit. It is possible to teach yourself to identify notes based on sound alone. Not only is it possible, but it's extremely easy.

Not 1 but 2 assholes and a guitar.

@madmikus Nope, you're not naming the correct notes.
Besides, perfect pitch isn't something you can learn. You either have it, or you don't.
You're either a fraud, or really fucking bored and want attention.
A Note To All Who Are Watching: DON'T BOTHER.
