These waves in this video are rollers as the wind is not really blowing that hard but hard and long enough. With more wind on the smaller than the ocean Great Lakes these waves get very vertical, square waves as sailors have called them. Out in the lakes during a hard and prolonged storm the sea can run at 15 to 40ft. with rogue waves 50 to 70ft. I enjoy the vids. from Cornwall etc. Gets very wild there.

See 'Lake Superior Movie' for ~20ft. give and take a few feet waves breaking near cliffs on Lake Superior. Bit chilly though. The waters of the world do get mean. Almost drowned a few times but the world wasn't that lucky.

Measured from the bottom of the trough to the top of the crest some of those waves are 8ft.
