@dencal26 How many parents are independent-minded enough to seek the truth? How many know that a 20 ounce soda contains the equivalent of 15 teaspoons of sugar (in the form of high fructose corn syrup, which is worse than sugar)? How many know that the reaction of drinking a soda like that every day is likely to be diagnosed as ADD? How many know that the child, now branded with a syndrome, will be given amphetamines (ridalin, adderall, etc.), and develop a speed addiction? Google: Breggin
@dencal26 I'm sure your intentions are good. No doubt, parenting is lacking and ought to be encouraged. But it seems idealistic to me to expect parents to discourage their kids when they (the kids) are being conditioned to want these things. Now the parents have to be the bad guys again, telling their kids "no megamind toy for you". I agree, parents should do that, but, let's face it, they don't. Most parents are grossly irresponsible, just like corporations, and it's the kids who pay.
This world has many threats and temptations our children must face. Is it better to attempt to eliminate them or teach the children to avoid them? Parenting begins at home not in the COURTHOUSE.
