today was the last day that the summer pool at humboldthain in berlin was open yet for some reason they closed 4 hours early and when we arrived a little before 6pm there were at least 10 other people trying to go swimming. this is a lesson in german punctuality: as we all know germans are extremely punctual yet what most people don't know is that they are also extremely punctual at closing things. if they say they are closed at 7 then that means everybody including the staff must be out 5 minutes before 7 (this applies at restaurants too). add this to the fact that customer service doesn't exist in germany it can get a bit frustrating. way to end the season.
