The 36 Boys were a gang of Turkish immigrants from Berlin-Kreuzberg. The gang was active in the late 1980s until the mid-1990s. Besides Turkish gang members were also other nationalities in the 300 up to 400 people representing large group. The area in which the gang operated, is the area around the Kottbusser Tor to the residential areas between the Naunynstraße and Waldemarstraße, as well up to the Görlitzer Bahnhof. Has named the gang after the ancient Berlin postal borough Südost 36.

The idea for the name of the gang came from Attila Murat Aydın, a founder of the Berlin rap scene, in 2003 he was murdered by a pensioner. At the beginning of the 1990s provided the 36 Boys battles with Nazis and Skinheads in the park Jungfernheide. Another rival gangs, were the Warriors from the Schlesisches Tor and the Black Panthers from Wedding. During the May riots in Kreuzberg joined the 36 Boys initially the Autonomists, an alliance because of the lack of political orientation of the group not long continued. The graffiti of the 36 Boys were distributed throughout Berlin.

In Kreuzberg, they served also to mark the area. In addition to the 36 Boys there were the "36 Juniors", who showed a higher potential of violence. 2007 the Berlin Senate has employed ancient members of the 36 Boys as "Kiezläufer" ("neighbour walker") to help in Kreuzberg preventive against juvenile delinquency.

The area around the Naunynstraße the center of the gang has been called a no-go area by the Senate. After the dissolution of the gang the ancient gang members went separate ways. Some remained in the criminal milieu, others such as the cook Tim Raue - awarded by the Gault Millau - turned bourgeois careers. Some became social workers in neighbour projects and youth centers. The ancient member Sinan Tosun has opened a shop near Kottbusser Tor in which he sells clothes with logos of the 36 Boys. The brother of Sinan, professional boxer Muzaffer Tosun was also a member of the 36 Boys.

The rapper Killa Hakan was a member of the gang. Also, the author and film director and media educator Neco Çelik was a member of the gang. In the German media, the gang is used as prototypical gang with immigration background.
