Most of us have got over the 'German' thing, it's an act of remembrance, no matter what side of the fence you happen to be sitting and who you think about during the 2 minutes.

I am not a fan of the British, but I have to admit that tens of thousands of young men from the United Kingdom, Australia, Canada and New Zealand (as well as the USA) have risked their lives or their limb fighting tyranny. When Hitler wanted to eradicate the national sovereignty of Poland and others by creating a large nation out of many different countries the British said no.
I hate to say it, but the fact that the British inflicted Nazi Germany's first ever military defeat is incredible.
