sitting since 1972, theres more videos to come on this one, its neat to go through these old barn finds and see what was intombed in the glove box and trunk. Found a reciept for the repaint job, it was the $39 special but with the extras those paint crooks at earl schieb gouged these people for $101. But I guess if you drive a Caddy, you can afford to blow $100 on a paint job, must be nice???

  • very nice for it's age.. If it was parked in 1972 after 13 years of use it is very likely 148,000, not 48,000. My 11 year old 1997 Thunderbird had 110,000 miles on it when I sold it in 2008 and it still looked good, original paint and shiny. A 48,000 mile should look practically new, with original paint.

  • @DougCameraMan People didnt drive these 59 Cadillacs very much after the early 60's. They went out of style real quick back then and the luxury car hi rollers that bought them quit driving them out of style. It could be either 48 or 148, who knows?

  • I just bought a 59 Eldo Seville... Cant wait till i get her home!

  • Woooow!!! I knew that the Eldorado model existed in '59 and my first guess was that was what this hardtop is. I did not know that a 'Seville' ever existed that far back....friggin AWESOME! This car beats the crap out of my 89 Reatta barn-find by magnitudes (of course). What a wonderful find....I'm curious what the barn-find purchase price was. Also, the 'V.s' on the backups lights are something I never saw on a '59 before either. ! I wonder which oil-man bought that new back in '58-'59...hehehe

  • Air Ride was the worst features GM put on these cars and the Buicks. The problems were so common they called it the "Buick Lean" because the airbags would lose air pressure after they were parked for a few hours.

  • Restodan..please tell us what have happened to this car, is he restoring it or what??? any new movies on this car????, i loooove old cadillacs and really want to know,,,,,,this one was only made in 975 ex i think :)

  • i love this

  • Man, I only WISH I was around back then when those were real cars unlike the recycled pop bottles we got today.

  • WOW what an amazing find, just a nice looking caddy.

  • carnut.com says likely weighs close to 5000 pounds, jesus christ

  • @DougCameraMan I own a 2002 Ford Explorer Sport and it has 39K And a 1992 Ford Mustang with 57K. Bought both brand new. They both look like new, But if I was to park them in a barn for 13 years they would look like the odometer rolled because nobody was there to maintain them.

  • im fixing my dads old 1959 international thats been sitting for 40 years and we tried the starter before we ever even moved it and damn did that thing try to start with no gas! and it only has 79,100 original miles
