Blue Angela
SherenaDa for a Blue Angel n. 14 mit Finale

Laura Cristin performed Blue Angela in the music by Dario Della Rossa in the event 'Forever Friends in Europe' taking place at in Minden, Germany from July 31st to August 2nd, 2009 on the occasion of the 250th anniversary from the so called 'battle of roses' that was a significant mark in history. The performance was part of the Festival 'la vie en rose' (curated by Netmail: Peter Kuestermann and Angela) and contributed turning the battlefields into land of peace through art.

My proposal was:
-This time, in the heart luggage that I will bring to Minden, private facts, emotions and feelings will interweave with the 250 years from the 1st of August 1759. I will keep in mind the fields of wild roses the winners went through, leaving behind the devastation. I will imagine the soldiers decorating their tricornes and caps with the flowers that embody Love, one of our best moti dellanima among human feelings. Movements, music, actions, waves, veils and Sherens accessories, images and sounds will fluctuate in the deepness of the sea. Just to go up and transform into light wings. At the same time this flowing will dive in the old myth when Sirens, before having a marine look, were birds in the upper part of the body and could fly. Though, the former Siren was aware to have also legs to walk and knew very well that sometimes wings veils could be stopped by thorns on the way.
This performance will start in the notes of 'SherenaDa n. 14' composed by Della Rossa about the Angel theme in 2006, 250 years after Mozarts birthday. Emotions from the past together with the ones of those present will contribute recreating the score for a Blue Angel. For a very special occasion, when veils, paillette, Sherens Blue outfit will tone in well with the photographs of an Angel(a) in person. At the vernissage of the photo exhibitions 'Naturblau' by Angela Paehler, at Victoria Hotel, with a 'Finale' composed for the occasion and played with love-.

This performance continues the series of SherenaDa (from the title of the first music composed by Dario for Lauras identity as Sheren) that started in Minden in 2005 for the bicentenary of H. C. Andersen, went on there with A MOve for Africa and A MAil train. Touching the chords of history and myth, were performed overseas with SHEren in A-Mexico, Action in G for the bicentennial of Garibaldi (Bergamo, Montevideo, 2008) and in the latest Nixe-Polena vor der Adria, researching her Roman roots in Cologne, Aquileia and Ravenna.

What happened at Victoria Hotel, on Saturday August 1st, in the morning light, during the main performance, was an interweaving of emotions, facts and sounds unwrapped from a gift for Angela!

This is a 'lateral video' taken from my still camera. I am sure that Karl-Leinz Linders, editing his professional video, will surely make a better job!

Copyright of the artists: Laura Cristin (performance), Dario Della Rossa (music) and also credits to Peter Netmail for 'la vie en rose' and having the idea of a gift for Angela and to Victoria Hotel for hosting the event (and the performer)!
