Full Story: http://www.davecarrollmusic.com/story... - In the spring of 2008, Sons of Maxwell were traveling to Nebraska for a one-week tour and my Taylor guitar was witnessed being thrown by United Airlines baggage handlers in Chicago. I discovered later that the $3500 guitar was severely damaged. They didnt deny the experience occurred but for nine months the various people I communicated with put the responsibility for dealing with the damage on everyone other than themselves and finally said they would do nothing to compensate me for my loss. So I promised the last person to finally say no to compensation (Ms. Irlweg) that I would write and produce three songs about my experience with United Airlines and make videos for each to be viewed online by anyone in the world. I'm not sure if anyone will see this, but I met Dave Carroll a week ago and asked him to sponsor me to send underprivileged children to camp and he sponsored me $105! That's enough for a child to go to camp for a week. Then today he sent me a check and his newest album with a letter telling me how sweet it was for me to raise money for underprivileged children. Me thinks that United's attempt to ask Dave for "permission" to use it for customer training is no more than a veiled attempt to get Dave to transfer the rights of the song to United. With a good lawyer, they can surely word it to make it sound like it just for training purposes only, but in actual fact a total transfer of song rights.

So i just saw this today at my new job's orientation showing us the power consumers have today over huge companies. This guy was apparently behind United for over 9 months to pay for his broken guitar and nothing... after he made this video he was immediately contacted, with an apology, money and asking for permission for them to use this video as a "bad customer service" example for them to use in their company. lol AND the owner of Taylor Guitars gifted him two brand new guitars. Good for him!
