I think with some practise, and a bit more strength, I could get this faster, I think it could be more useful in some situations. Try it out yourself.

  • Great vid Teghead. I wish i could climb like you. I seem to get stuck. when i jump to the wall and do a cat, i am not able to pull myself up. Is this because my upper body strength is quite low or is it all in the technique?

  • Yeah, you need strength. Technique will turn a poor climb-up into an easier, faster climb-up. But you need strength to make not being able to pull yourself up turn into being able to pull yourself up.

You can always count on strength, if you're new to Parkour, start thinking about/reading into strength training, get some weightlifting sessions on the go or something.

  • Is it about flexibility? Ive got my climbs pretty good by i just whack my knee if i try the leg up ones.

  • Flexibility may be an issue, although my flexibility is quite average.

You may need to alter your technique or builkd the strength to tilt your hips, pull your core tight to one side, and be able to hold your torso away from the edge of the wall; and get your torso and hips high enough with your initial pull.
