This is great news, we need for candidates to be nominated to at least go through the rigorous US style primary campaign, touring every part of Kenya and convincing Kenyans that they are for national interests and not their own greedy ambitions.

Am more concerned about who runs for MP - the draft now allows independent candidates but they have to get 1000 signatures from their constituency. This is a good thing, however if you belong to a party, you don't need any signatures! As for Presidential, let them run, but let them collect signatures also just as stipulated in this draft.

Let them run. Anyone that saw the slew of presidential candidates for the US election would have found it all laughable. But 5 degrees and jobless, then that guy couldn't run to the store, let alone run for election.
@K : It will make little or no difference...they all turn out to be irrelevant clowns once they're in office!
