  • heard this the first time today and it moved me-and the audience to which it was played to into tears.

  • @asisecanta it's simply because Sol Gabetta makes an ENORMOUS cut in the score! Almost all page 15 and 16 of the original score! She even cuts the espressiovo part before. What is played in this video is the original version, uncut. May even be interesting that the sung part is written originally "Whistled". He writes that female cellists can even sing it.

  • Could someone explain me how is possible that this version is 8 minutes long while Sol Gabetta's is just 4 minutes long?

  • I like the interpretation of Sol gabetta more!

    But still brilliant

  • Is the cellitst supposed to sing? DAMM, this is FANTASTIC.

  • @bommelbot yes

  • Isn't that the dolcissimo? The first movement of "Gramata cellam".

  • I just love that piece! I'm gonna play it myself, too, just got the sheets for it (only the 2nd mvt)

  • isn't it tree of life on the picture?

  • where is the 1st mvm? Im not really sure how to shape it :)
