I return to Poland and discuss the political effect of the prewar conflict between Czechoslovakia and its northern neighbour. I am delighted to see that there is no-one looking at passports on the Polish side as the control seems to be now on the Czech side only. Once again I sing the praises of the European Union.
The music in this film comes from the soundtrack to the Living Daylights (1987) by John Barry.

My channel on you tube : http://www.youtube.com/alanheath is one of the most prolific from Poland, although unfortunately not the most visited. I have produced a number of films, most in English but also in Polish, French, Italian, Spanish and the occassional hint of German and Hebrew. My big interest in life is travel and history but I have also placed films on other subjects

There are a number of films here on the packaging industry. This is because I am the publisher of Central and Eastern European Packaging -- http://www.ceepackaging.com - the international platform for the packaging industry in this region focussing on the latest innovations, trends, design, branding, legislation and environmental issues with in-depth profiles of major industry achievers. Most people may think packaging pretty boring but it possibly effects your life more than you really imagine!

In 1997 I founded Polish Business News http://www.pbn.com.pl .There are a number of business related films here and I intend to do many more on CRM (customer relations management).

My blog can be found via http://www.ceepackaging.com and http://www.pbn.com.pl and contains background information and more details of many of my films. This information is in English.

I have also a second blog on the site http://www.navigeo.net/blog/alan-heath-blog . This site has been recently started by a friend and I think it will soon be one of the leading travel sites in Poland, if not Central Europe. It contains additional information about some of the places and events shown in these films but most of that is in Polish.

  • POLAND was not an ally of Germany...know your facts...

  • @POLMAZURKA You know yours. There was a non aggression pact between Poland and Germany signed in 1934.

  • do not forget that Chechoslovakia attacked this region in 1919 when Poland was fighting with Soviet Union, of course action in 1938 was stupid

  • I dont think that is what happened in 1919 but I am glad we agree that the attack on Czechoslovakia allied to Hitler in 1938 was stupid.

  • For those that like to complain about the poor quality of my films this is your chance to have some input.

My Sony Cybershot - used for all films here but one - has given up on me. I do not want to buy a video camera - just a compact camera which I can carry around in my pocket.

What camera should I buy and why?

  • Ok thanks! But were is your hometown?

  • Warsaw now. I was born near London, grew up in Consett, County Durham near Newcastle (film appearing shortly) then lived in London for ten years and for 15 years I have been in Poland. I have a house in Norwich in the UK (there is a film of this city on this site).

  • Polish Roads. CRAP

  • jedzie jak ciota

  • I'm british but my parents are originally from poland.

I've visited Slovakia and czech republic and poland, some similarities between the three countries.

Czech republic economically can be felt through the road network and massive expansion of ruzyne in praha.

    Slovakia and poland less so.

Many polish workers in England, their strong work ethics clearly felt through industries.

Slovakians seem much more freindly than poles but a strong Ukranian link between slovakia can be clearly seen.

  • Thank you ^^
