And I've driven one and it felt like a fucking golf cart. You don't get shitloads of torque, it's just that the battery of the car makes the car work in a different way, so you get much of the power of the car in 1 second, but still it's gay.

I've had pedestrians walk into the side of my 1973 VW bug while it was parked and idling with no muffler! And then claim they "didn't know" I was there!

I drive a rattling old TDI Jetta now and I still find it surprising that pedestrians, usually in parking lots will walk through the cloud of black start up smoke and almost into the back of my car before I'm even in gear.

I wonder what colour the sky is in their world?

You've obviously never driven one, the torque you get from the electric engine is incredible, beats all but the highest end super cars. Don't own one personally, but what with fuel costs these days, Prius owners will be laughing. I think people think they are slow because of the types of people that usually drive them, but I put one round a race track at full speed and it was pretty impressive.
