  • You're quick to hate cops, and even quicker to call them when you need their help. Pull your ignorant head out of your ass and have some respect. It's a dangerous job. WSP is the best there is, they're Troopers not "cops"

  • @GoonRider919 You're the only one who said anything about hating cops. I have an issue with WSP writing people for 64 in a 60, or nailing them for $1000+ ticket if they pull over to the left side of the freeway. Their "emphasis enforcements" are a wonderful way to cripple commutes, and bring much needed revue to our bankrupt state.

And you are correct, they are not cops, so I would never call WSP for help.

  • @noonespecial316 Ok I checked my "resources". Websters defines a Speed Trap as: "a stretch of road policed by often concealed officers or devices (as radar) so as to catch speeders"

So this section of I-5 is where it transitions from 70 to 60mph, the officer is sitting on a section of road just past a dip, so his vehicle is concealed until you pop up out of the dip- and he has you. It's easy money. Anyone doing 4 mph over the speed limit is a dick? Wow, that covers most of the state.

  • @MULTIPLESHOTSFIRED That is not true. You need to check your resources. And how is it a "trap" if the trooper is sitting on the side of the road where everyone can see him/her? If you got a ticket for 4 mph over the limit then you were being a dick.

  • @GoonRider919 Respect is earned and not given. BTW - Interesting name for someone supporting the WSP.

  • @MULTIPLESHOTSFIRED Thanks for doing the research. You're alright.

  • @ChampBurgundy14 I'm assuming you are commenting on my statement that it's "a nice little revenue stream for the state"?

After doing a little research per your request I confirmed that it is in fact a nice revenue stream. 43% of the revenue from WSP ticket revenue goes to the PSEA- a STATE account. That's millions of dollars directly from motorists funding a state account, and some of that account directly funds WSP's operating budget. So yes, this is a nice little revenue stream for the state

  • @MULTIPLESHOTSFIRED Less than 1% of the fine goes to the state general fund. The State Patrol writes the ticket and gets none of the money. Most of it goes to the county courts. Do a little research. The cities and counties get to keep most of their ticket money. The state would not be broke if they kept the revenue from the tickets.

  • @Is3rf Yep it's turned into a nice little revenue stream for the state. Sort of like red light cameras, except this allows the officers to relax and get some fresh air in the process.

  • This is where police make there money. So many people speed here without even knowing it.
