@Xoroaster Or, as in smoking some kind of funny stuff, might bring her on. I'm lighting up now... "O" Sophia...

@gettingolder2 According to some of the theology, she is something like Light, and is some version of translucent. She seems to exist at, or just beyond, the dome of the sky. The Barrier between Heaven and Earth, is where Sophia should technically exist. Though, using Spirit of Apocalypse (Unveiling) on her, does not necessarily entail staring at the sky. It can be done through daydreaming, dreaming, reading signs, or many other means of divination.

Boy, so much to think about. Just Stop-it.. Just kidding.. just wondering, what would Sophia even look like? Any thoughts on that?
so, the Valeninusians were the Trotskyists of religion, constantly splitting and forming new groups? :)

@MacNutz2 The Valentinians were a very inclusive system. Where the Ebionites and Marcionites came close to hating each other, and sitting in their own camps, the Valentinians tried to make everyone happy with one "gentle" system. It seems to have been the source of many religions, though theoretically, the offshoots could have come from the Marcionites. The Valentinian and Marcionite systems shared some similarities, and were very popular compared to the early Ebionite theology.

Thanks for explaining the whole Sophia thing. I had been curious about that for a bit. I kinda wondered if she wasn't supposed to be "God's", wife or something like that.

@Jaybird196 It is a possibility. And Hereticbooks mentioned the idea in Psalms of Wisdom being a female deity, and perhaps the counterpart to the male God. That makes quite a lot of sense to me, because there are certain theologies that consider God androgynous probably because of the Sophia aspect. It's difficult to pin it directly on Matt and Luke, though, Sophia seems to have the features of a Deity in many of the religions.
