Charlotte Hunter, born in Shreveport in 1937, was a friend of Carol Williams, the first singer to have a record released on RAM records. Charlotte made several demos for RAM with James Burton before having her first record on K 5811 "When There Is No One"/"Now Is the Time" around September 1957. Another song, a duet with Bob McGhee, "You and I Love" was issued on the RAM EP 57228. Charlotte left in the vaults several songs like "How Lonesome", "Lonesome Heart", "The End of the World", "I'll Do Anything", the rockin' "Wherever You Are" and fine covers of Faye Adams "I'll Be True" or Elvis' "Paralyzed". The moving "Love Me Baby" was cut with Shelton Bissell, member of Jerry Hawkins' band The Rockin' Hawks, on sax. In 1959, Shelton moved to Texas and worked with Mickey Gilley and Charles "Doc" Lewis.
