I've never seen this before. I like it very much. Do you have a variation where you would do it with a chi sao base? More sticky hands than striking?

Yes, I do believe the "small circle ju jit su" (Wally Jay) students do this, and I believe they got it from arnis (Remy Presas).

thats very close to the single sinawali drill i learned many moons ago...found within the empty hand drills of arnis
