@staphinfection You dont need best techniques to look after your teeth. Do something useful with your life and then you can afford a good dentist who will make your teeth last. I have never been to a crappy dentist nor have I ever paid too much for it.

***** You never used ANY of the "Mercury Safe Removal Protocols" ...and so you exposed not only your patient but also yourself and your assistant to Hazardous Levels of Mercury Vapor!!!

It's probably because you have a lack of tooth enamel or some how the heat or cold is getting at you're nerve in you're tooth

20 years ago I had a lot of respect for the dental profession...now it appears they are charging as much as they can possibly get away with (and the skill set of the newer dentist seems to be not as good), which doesn't mean the older ones are that much better.
My "dentist" got testy and angry at me today becauseI said the crown he was fitting was too tall (affecting the overall fit of my mouth). When I am spending 500 bucks (my end after insurance) dammit I want IT DONE RIGHT!

I have to wonder if most of the dental industry keeps prolonging the inevitable just to milk every last penny out of somebody and their bad oral hygiene habits. Someone who has severe tooth decay isn't going to suddenly have the best brushing and flossing techniques in the world. Why keep doing all this stuff for someone who is just going to have to have dentures in a few years anyway?
It's like keeping people who are vegetables alive and charging them millions of dollars to "live".
No replacement can b as good as a persons own tooth. A denture only chews with 1/12th the power. An implant is fused to the bone and does not give the biofeedback so u no how hard u are chewing. Most dentist spend more time telling people how to take care of their teeth than removing them.

I am sorry u have had problems with your dentist.Reasons why a person gets repeated decay. 1 is eating too much sugar and not brushing and flossing well. Another is having a bad bite that puts too much stress on the fillings and causes them to weaken. This allows bacteria to seep in behind the filling and decay occurs. There is the possibility that the dentist is using cheaper materials to keep the cost down. It is possible that the dentist left decay behind.

The rubber dam has its place in dentistry. Not every procedure needs it. Every dentist makes a decision when to use it. The mouth is a harsh environment and if isolation is compromised the fillings will not bond and the fillings will not last. I have used a microscope for 15 years and many times have restored teeth without a rubber dam and the fillings are still in place without decay.

A molar is important to chewing food.If it can be saved it is worth the effort.

A dentist wants to help people keep their teeth for life. He wants to make the process as easy as possible.
