Its always the same story with women. Males are circumcised and females are mutilated. What hypocrites you all are. Many of the males you had no concern for are actively supporting this procedure for all women. It should be mandatory for all girls at birth and women to age 35. Then maybe after 60 years women can begin to consider the feelings of children and protect them like a mother should. There is no other way plus there are many health benefits.

there are some wonderful groups dealing with FGM you can check out... Clitoraid and Child Bride Rescue are less known but very interesting and helpful work...this has haunted me since I read about it over 20 years ago. I pray for these girls daily.

as you say its a very evocative subject:
1. when the media starts repeating evocative news items take a closer look because "news" is 50% government informes. (Think iraq and AMD)
2. approx. 1.000.000 children die of starvation every month.
3. desperate situations produce desperate consequences.

Much of what is presented as fact is propaganda and spin. I think we'd be appalled if reality was laid out before us. I still want it.
