Hey thanks for the video. Just wondering if the hinge of your x201 tablet wobbles a lot? Mine is a brand new one with a seemingly weak and wobbling monitor. It shakes even when I am doing the typing and turns out to be really annoying.

@zuluman007 Thanks for the response. Can you tell from the Device Manager under "Display adapters" which Intel Chipset it is?

Do you have to change the calibration of the screen each time you switch between landscape and portrait mode to ensure accuracy of the pen? Nice review BTW

@nomatesman Thanks for the comment. The pen doesn't need to be recalibrated everytime you switch orientation. The calibration does however vary slightly depending on which way you have the screen. So it all depends on what your doing. For something like writing notes it shouldn't be a problem.

Nice review guys... could you tell me what video chipset this machine runs? Thanks in advance.

@WookieeFart
It uses the integrated Intel HD graphics which are quite adequate for HD video. I don't know about performance in games since I don't really play any but from what I read it's not great. Cheers.

@WookieeFart First generation intel core ix (i3, i5, i7) use the 5 series chipset. The graphics chipset is called "Intel HD Graphics". The only difference between the integrated graphics with these processors is the clock speed (and memory clock speed) at which they run. The low-voltage "LM" processors (ex: my i7-620LM) have slightly slower graphics than regular voltage "M" processors (ex: i5-540M).
The older generation core 2 duo processors used an integrated video called "GMA x4500mhd".

hey there! a random question i am sure but.. does lenovo provide you with restore disks for the O/S or custom software? i was thinking of combining an x201 with an SSD of my choice :P
MW4RD 1 year ago
@MW4RD Lenovo doesn't include any restore disks or anything but you can easily create them when you first boot the computer (as long as you have an external optical drive or the docking station). Search the web as I'm sure there are great ressources with instructions on how to reinstall the OS and software onto an SSD. I know it can also be done with a USB key if you don't have an optical drive. Good luck! :)
