He killed himself because he felt powerless and couldn't bear to witness the world of freedom, and the nation he loved, going to shit in the hands of maniacs and pigfuckers. I seriously doubt Thompson would approve of your comment. One thing Thomspson never was -- and the sort of people he railed against -- was a bully.
He railed against the Vietnam War not becasue he was a "bad ass," but becasue he -- like everyone with a lick of sense -- saw the U.S. as acting like the bully it is.
