  • I never realised it would provoke so many comments, this car ran megajolt with the MAP measuing load- simple tube from the ecu to the intake runners. Has now been replaced with a V4 megajolt running TPS sensor since the bike carbs have one built in it seemed a shame to waste it. As for the advance the Megajolt ECU controls that by measuring the engine speed from the timing wheel on the crank and the load from the TPS on the carbs, full throttle = full load.Just done one on blackbird carbs today

  • true it'll run perfectly well with a 2d map, but you'll get better throttle response with a 3d map!

  • I have a redtop running a MBE management with 48 Webbers, there is no MAP sensor on it. Its not required with carbs, can be used but not an necessity. Real men tune carbs, dont rely on computers to work it out! =P

3D maps are alot more desirable to be honest. He is just running 2D map, cranksensor and ignition timing. Nothing wrong with that

  • Well you may not need it tho if you replaced the dizzy with mega jolt then how does it advance the timing

  • dumbass European....i didnt say he didnt have it i meant they dont need it.

  • You're clueless. This car is running Megajolt programmable ignition and it needs either a TPS or a MAP. Google it.

  • so every car ever built with carbs has an ecu? no it doesnt, it doesnt need a tps or a map, most carbed cars use vacuum advance distributors.

  • Yes, YOU DO. It's an aftermarket 3d programmable ignition management system which takes its input from engine rpm and engine load. You get load from either TPS or MAP.

  • you dont need a MAP or a TPS on carbs...

  • Are you running MAP or TPS? What cam are you using?
