Catskill Mountain Flood Disaster Montage of the events August 27th through August 31st 2011. Hurricane Irene's massive rainfall decimated many of the small towns, roads, and bridges in the Catskill Mountain region. Lives were lost and families left homeless. Margaretville, Arkville, Windham, Prattsville, Roxbury, Fleischmanns, Tannersville, Big Indian, Oliverea, Shandaken, Boiceville and many other towns in the Catskill Mountains of New York were essentially destroyed by the catastrophic flood waters... Please help!

It was TERRIBLE! No hot water for 2 weeks school's opening was delayed 1week and thank go there is no snow or I'd be in school until august.

it really makes me wonder if when NYS moved our towns from ther original locations and built the dams for the aquaduct for NYC if it contributed to the severity of the flooding by blocking natural waterways .
