Lifeline Shovel - Budget Backcountry Fun

With more chances to use the lifeline shovel last winter, I felt it passed the beast test. For the price I dont see it necessary to pay three times the amount for comparable back country shovels.

Hell for the money and the purpose like you said cant go wrong. I figure I can always add a branch in between to lengthen the handle while in the back country. Good review beast

Black Diamond sells two backcountry shovels. This lifeline shovel is actually the exact same width (8.25") as BD's smaller shovel.

This shovel fits perfectly into the carry pocket on a Grub Hub camp kitchen and is reasonably sturdy for general camping with loose dirt and sand and gravel. Good for lightweight car shovel as well.

Well that sounds good, I was even thinking since the blade is metal you can use a reflector wall in a pinch or at least a wind screen for stove
