Do you believe prayer can change this world?

I heard of a fantastic experience in Africa and this week we will pray together with my friends and readers for the Saint Josephs Party on March 19th.
We will pray to help to improve the state of the world. Some believe that prayer is too abstract but I would like to hear your opinion on this.

Thank you

  • Paulo...it's a conversation - a dialogue. One speaks while the other listens; then the first one listens while the other speaks; then the first one speaks again while the other listens again; and so on, and so on. Is that abstract? Check out "Thank you God for Prayer". It is the most concrete thing I know of. How do people tolerate this life without being in this conversation? From whence comes their help? Those who are engaged in this conversation need it.

  • too many words spoken...my friends prayer is believing in something that eyes have not yet seen and ears had not been heard...it is simply you believe in something up there to empower you, isn't it,? lets make this world a simple place to live...sometimes we are just showing what we've got, our knowledge experience and all that...but we're not aware that because of that to many explanations and that brainy thing deep understanding and all of that crap we are making things complicated...

  • A lot of good comments. I think prayers is self mediation. Tour talking to your soul and when you better yourself everything around you becomes better. But in order to change the world all needs to pray. All needs to talk to there soul And all needs to change self in order to make their surroundings better

  • Random thought: prayer is a moment when we stop whatever we're doing to be a bit closer to ourselves and be better aligned with what our spirit wants to be or to manifest. If we didn't get obscured by all of this reality's attempts to keep us busy with thoughts, needs, desires and fights, we would live in a constant prayer state, every breath would be a prayer, every movement would be a blessing, every step would be fulfillment and happiness.

  • you cannot change any condition around you, but you can change your self and then the world will change..prayer will change yourself to a better condition of peace, love, tranquility, and self control..so these good emotions will unintentionally spread through the whole society and the world

  • Pray to yourself. Your own beliefs will change the world.

  • thank u JESUS !!!

  • Prayer to me is a pathway to the greatness within all of us. I believe that the god we are all looking for is within our own breasts and that all we have to do is listen to the beating of our heart to understand that each and everyone of is an entity beyond comprehension. For that reason I believe that prayer is a bridge connecting us to the being muslims call Allah, christians call Jesus and nietzche called the uberman.

  • Shortly said, prayer helps me to focus in on the moment. Find the missing direction and guide me on my way. I can also put it another way. I notice when I don't pray on a regular basis, I become a wee bit scattered! I don't pray on my knees, though. I pray in powerful places, quiet places....on my own. It's a private issue for me.

  • When praying collectively to uplift the world (the water, earth, plants, animals, people, our air), I feel more energized too. When you were trying to set up a chat a few months ago with readers (but it crashed), I connected, waited for 30 minutes, and FELT so much love without a word spoken. Last year for my birthday, gave up something for someone I care about in Africa. Then, in December, rec'd a letter. It said 'J W would like to thank you for saving her life'.

    A prayer, answered. : )
