These photographs and video clips were taken during a protest in Reykjavik Iceland at 22. November 2008. The protest was against the government of Iceland and Central Bank of Iceland, their incompetence to handle the economy meltdown which was foreseen by many experts months and years before it happened. The people of Iceland wants these people to resign and get foreign experts to investigate how this could happen!

After the peaceful protest 4-6 hundred people marched to police station nearby where one man was illegally held because he protested on 8.nov 2008 by put up a flag of low cost store chain on the parliament building.
Police and/or the government didn't want him to take part in the protest 22. nov. 2008 - so they jailed him!
You will see how people reacted to that in second half of this video...

  • hi FunnyDummy, it's not the icelandic people fault that our nation economy has been driven to near bankruptcy! It's the politicians and central bank of Iceland fault because the laws was not and all supervisor institutes failed! The central bank of Iceland has done many many errors which has eventually lead to this situation.

  • The people of Iceland impress the hell out of me... They're the first ones who really stood up to this evil conspiracy of "central banks" in all the developed nations.

    ...Go Iceland!

  • Well you try living in a country deprived of public transit and let me know how to live without a car.

  • An inspiration to us all. Big change starts in small places. The BANKSTERS are just little bully boys that throw a tantrum every time it doesn't go thier way. Just like many shareholders and other tics on the ass of the dog. Resist the NWO to the bitter end. Don't let the EU strip you of your rights and your freedom. "Keep on Rockin in the FREE WORLD". Never surrender.

  • Kill all your debt, stock food, guns ammo, gold and silver. Plant a massive garden.

    Bad times are coming.

  • Fyndið, ég sé sjálfan mig nokkrum sinnum í myndbandinu, ég var gaurinn á handriðinu við löggustöðina með myndavélina...

    Gott myndband annars.

  • Sometimes I wonder whether the world is being run by smart people who are putting us on.or by imbeciles who really mean it. Mark Twain

  • I'm not saying it's the case with YOU or ALL Icelanders... But most do take loans on their three cars per household etc etc. But then again, Icelanders are very hard working people as well, so maybe that's why you thought it's ok. Hey I could be wrong but I'm only speaking from what I know and see.

  • How wrong you are. I was brought up by a single mother, who has been working all her life to make ends meet. She never took a loan to pay for any thing except our house. I also have been working along side school since I was 14, just to make money for my future. We never voted for the government, we never even had creditcards, so why are we struggling? Why are my mothers loans going up 40% a year? And this is the story of most Icelanders, we didn't do shit, so how is this our fault?

  • Finally you've woken up back home. I have sympathy, all power to the protesters, make sure this doesn't happen again. I hope the investigations will bring some results.

  • If the banks wouldn't lend money to the materialistic people in Iceland left and right with no hesitation this crisis wouldn't have been so bad. And how often hasn't this been brought up years, I tell you YEARS ago, foretelling that this situation would arise. What do Icelanders do? "Oh no we're so strong, nothing can happen to us" yadda yadda yadda... It's every persons obligation to not let people in power get away with this.
