but I doubt any golfer could play decent on a real sport,

Golf and Poker are not sports their hobbies.

Tiger Woods is no athlete, he would probably die playing football, hockey, basketball, or even soccer.

Why Golf considered a sport?

It nothing close to a sport like Football, Basketball, Hockey, MMA.

Hell hopskotch is more of a sport then golf.
