you are safe from a jab due to getting deep to the dead side and counterattacking.

I also disagree..jabs are rare in street attacks as are right left combos..the most common strikes are wild right roundhouses and right straights. But thats not important as this tech does not put you at risk either way.

In boxing terms a jab is punch from the lead hand(commonly a left) and a cross is a punch from the rear hand(commonly a right). But the names also describe the way boxers use those tools. The lead hand for boxers is a probing tool meant to measure distance, set up combos and put pressure on his opponent. In KM we dont use those terms we call our punches a left straight or a right straight since our strategy is different than a boxers.

.All our punches should be power punches..we should strike hard and strike fast as we dont have the time of a sport fight to use the "jab" in the same way as a boxer.Though you will hear KM instructors including myself to accidentally use the terms jab and cross since many of us have backgrounds in boxing or kickboxing.Habit.

One of our black belts pulls it off in sparring all the time and it was developed by the founder of Krav Maga over 30 years ago and was one of his favorite moves so most likely it has been used in self defense. It does work but the reason why it is labeled as "advanced" isnt because we cant tech it to a beginner its just that it requires better timing and reflexes than one of our beginner punch techniques.

Cover up (move your forearms to your head), move forward, elbow him in the head and clinch. If you back up you're going to get hit: if you move into him you neutralise his weapons. If you really want to learn how to defend yourself I'd recommend seeking out a good teacher: youtube is of limited value since you need someone to observe you and correct your mistakes aswell as explain the finer points. It's also important to feel how someone executes a technique in order to fully understand it.

@snwitzles there's a simple answer my friend. Low kick. When someone starts throwing a fury of hay makers charging, try won't see a low kick to the groin, knee, or push them back slightly. This will give you one moment that you must seize, close the distant then unleash a steady stream of combinations until your opponent is subdued

In self defence you do not question the teacher with 'what if's', those are answered by different defences and techniques.

You pull this off very well, and I can see very clearly you are very skilled. However, what is the practicality of using one arm instead of two? You probably have a good answer.
