Officer Clint Chrz made a traffic stop close to the end of his shift in November 2007. An inattentive driver slams into his bike, sending the bike into Officer Chrz.
The motorcop relates his story, and the video you see is amazing. He lived and is back on the street.
MORAL - If drivers can fail to see flashing emergency lights on a police bike at the side of the road, just think how invisible YOUR bike is with its tiny four way flashers and tail light. If you have to stop or your bike becomes disabled, pull as far off the road as possible, and don't assume bike offers any protection.
AND FYI - the bike he rides is a beloved Honda ST1300
This is why Motor Officers Deserver ALOT of respect for what they do.. They have aLot more risk than any other officer.

@dictatorialmessenger
I don't know exactly what you mean by dopey, but in short, most drivers over here are arrogant, lazy, complacent and just lack common sense when it comes to the simple task of driving. Unfortunately the traits mentioned above have become all too common in American society. I wish there was a better reason for things like this to happen, but sadly there isn't.

that;s what can happen when cops pull someone over for some stupid bullshit like for not using a seat belt or an expired inspection sticker, I have seen it too many times

Thank God the officer is ok. I hope they sent to driver who hit his bike and him to jail. I beat they were text messaging or talking on their at the time. Stupid drivers. I ride too and I am tired of the excuses that "I did not see you." Than look twice and never use your damn cell while driving. And stop looking at the others in your car when you are talking to them. Eyes off the road for a moment maybe a moment that you can't take back.
