I kind of like these guys. SC3 actually does seem to have some decent concepts in it, it's just the execution is just so horrible.

@MarquisdeBarrabas Not ALL SC fans hated the third one, the main problem with the game to them is that a lot of things where changed and the game didn't have the same feel. Other problems is that the execution for things for done poorly (the story) and because of certain tweaks (the missing races, the personalities being different, etc.), many consider the game non-canon. It did have good ideas, but they weren't treated properly. If you like the game for what it is, that's OK.

I loved everything about SC3: the puppets the map, the ships, the voices, the writing especially.

I can tell you I enjoyed myself a great deal more playing the game than you did coming here and slagging it off.

Star Control III for me is non-canon.

Fred Ford and Paul Reiche III had no involvement in this and it shows.

Star Control III shows what happens when a greedy company forgets about the game itself and eyes only profits.

You end up with a shit game that does no justice to the previous game, which I personally regard as the greatest ever.

Get fecked Accolade. Good riddance that you don't exist as a single entity anymore.

I really do like some of the races in SC3. The Daktaklakpak and Xchaggers were especially memorable. The puppets were a weird gimmick, but even then, some of them (definitely not all) were pretty cool. Even some of the new voices were great - the new Orz voice is a VAST improvement over the uncharacteristically fey voice in SC2. The glaring flaw in SC3 was the gameplay.
